I have a question, will CRIS notify me whether my I485 has been transferred to my local office? I had an RFE and my lud states that they have received my RFE and my case is at NBC. I already received my interview letter for next month (7/27), Is my case going to be transferred to the local office or not?

When I got my interview notice, CRIS did not notify me whether my case would be transferred to the local office. You should just appear at the location specified in your interview notice.

You'll never guess it...I got an e-mail from my buddy Cris today and AOS is now pending in California! They must have used carrier pidgeons.

Still no EAD, but I'm hoping that our good luck will continue and it will be in the post today. Please, USPS (USPS is also holding my wedding dress hostage. I'm not very happy with them. :P )

Anyway...yay! Congratulations, Creel. Welcome back, mybackpages. I hope that your RFE doesn't hold things up too much.

EAD wasn't in the post today either. My husband called USCIS to make sure that it wasn't returned to them but their "systems were down" and they couldn't log in to see anything about our case. They assured us it should be coming soon, but sometimes takes a while to produce the card and send.

Senator Durbin (Illinois) sent me a letter today, though, asking us to fill out a form with more information about our case if we need their help. It is a useful thing to have at hand in case anything goes screwy again!

Got an "approval sent" email for my EAD card today, hope this doenst mean that I have to wait too long ofr the actual card.

3/20/07: Mailed I765/485/130 To chicago

3/29/07: NOA For all three

4/9/07: RFE (medical) grrrr!

4/9/07: Interview date notification. (7/27/07)

5/20/07: Sent out rfe response.

6/5/07: RFE response received by NBC.

6/7/07: EAD card production ordered.

6/10/07: AOS and EAD touched?

6/12/07: EAD card production ordered again!!!

6/13/07: EAD touched again

6/16/07: EAD card notice: approval sent,,,

6/18/07: EAD touched again....

6/18/07: Received EAD card in the mail!

7/27/07: Interview day, everything went well except the fact that the doctor made an error on the forms- RFE.

No touches after interview,,,, strange.

8/22/07: Card production ordered.

8/27: Welcome notice received.

Sorry i have been away for so long, once i got the EAD all that tima ago i went on an extensive job hunt. Anyways, i was happy to come back and read about all of the approvals, that is awesome.

I found a job as a 4th grade teacher not far from where i live, and this is the reason i have been gone for a few weeks.

I cant believe that this thread got to over 1000 replies, i never imagined that when i started it.

Well, I'm getting a little frustrated here waiting on the AOS. I'm happy with my EAD, don't get me wrong, but it drives me nuts that I have not had any touches in a month and heck! I mailed the packet at the end of February! I worry that I am stuck in namecheck hell. For those of you who have called CSC to check on your cases, how did you do so? When I call, none of the options seem applicable to me. Will they tell you if you are stuck in namecheck hell? Or if the person looking at your file has gone on vacation or whatever?

I guess I'm in namecheck limbo at CSC also. My last touch was April 27th. :( I haven't bothered calling anyone, though. I'm frustrated enough. :jest:

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum, but not new to the irritating ways of USCIS/INS whatever the hell they call themselves nowadays.

Just wondering if this is normal?

My husband came over here on a K3 visa. We applied for an EAD in March. Receipt date for the EAD was March 12th. So then the case was transferred to the California Service Center on March 19th to "speed up" the processing. Well its now June freakin 18th and I haven't heard anything besides that first NOA giving us the receipt date. What are my options? Someone please help. The website (uscis) says to call customer service immediately if it has been more than 90 days. When I call customer service they have a playback message saying "please allow 180 days from the day your case was transferred before inquiring" - HUH? what do we do?

Wow! I did receive my EAD today!

It was postmarked June 14th, and was valid from June 7th.

B)

I did apply for a job as soon as I received the 'card production ordered' e-mail. One employer's hiring manager ended the interview as soon as she realized I do not have the actual card yet :whistle: . For the next interview I had that 'card production ordered' e-mail printed and they told me I am alright to start as long as I can give them my alien # and then show them the card as soon as I get it ;) .

Anyhow, it's awesome to work even though it's exhausting - I really wasn't too picky about the job :lol: At least checking the mail is not the peak of my day :huh:

Well I'm frustrated right along there with you....... I haven't had a touch since April 30th and I'm going through the DORA program that is supposed to be the quick route........ ya right!
