Hey guys,

Filed for EAD, separately from AOS, in the second week of March and got the biometric done in the second week of April. However, no news since then, and I have a job I have to start within a couple of weeks that will be in danger if I don't get my EAD in time which is making me nervous as hell. I see in this thread, and even in the april filers thread, that people who have similar timelines have both their AOS and EAD approved. Don't understand what's going on with my application. Maybe I should've applied both AOS and EAD together. Is there anything I can do to get this EAD on time? I desperately need this job and don't want to lose it. :crying:

Because you filed for EAD before AOS, it is a different classification. You would only be given a temporary EAD that would last as long as your 1-94 (90 days after your arrival into the United States which has already passed). The reason your EAD is getting nowhere is that it's already expired. You file for EAD at the same time or after you file for AOS because you are filing under the category of someone adjusting their status. This grants you a year-long EAD within 90 days.

If this is correct, you have wasted $180. E-file for EAD as soon as possible if you want to work in the next few months.

Since you're an April filer for AOS, you'd get a better idea of the timeline for AOS there. And if you have to file for EAD this month, watch the June filer thread to see the timeline for that.

I'm sorry that the process confused you, but EAD should always be sent in with the AOS package.

06/01/2007 - EAD card production e-mail received (74 days)

11/29/2007 - Infopass appointment - file was sent to a storage facility before it was finished processing.

05/28/2008 - Received AOS Interview notice

07/10/2008 - AOS Interview-APPROVED pending fingerprints

09/22/2008 - GREEN CARD IN HAND!

Removing Conditions

06/04/2010 - Sent I-751

06/07/2010 - NOA1

06/09/2010 - Check cashed

07/22/2010 - Biometrics Appointment

09/08/2010 - Card production e-mail

Ahh...k-3. I don't know anything about K-3, so you'd be best asking around in the EAD/AP forum and making an infopass appointment.

i wake up early today because we have people coming over for breakfast..when i opened my computer there is an e-mail from CRIS "production of your card has been ordered"...i am so excited..after that wrong e-mail i've been worrying about my GC is on the way..YEHEY!

Jun-12-07 : Another e-mail from CRIS stating card production ordered for EAD on June 12th?!

June 15-07 : E-mail saying that "Approval notice sent" for EAD

July-11-07 Interview, I-130 approved, AOS pending (name check)

Aug-14-07 E-mail from CRIS, notifying a welcoming notice was sent to the new perm. resident!!!
