I am also a march EAD AOS filer. Plz join me in. I got to know about this site very late. I was searching for some info and google search brought me to this website and then I realized I found almost all the info I needed for my case.

I am an Indian who came for the first time as an Visitor (B2) and ended up marrying an US citizen in some fortunate circumstances. We dint know the rules at the time of wedding. We married in 40 days time of my arrival here to US.

We filed for AOS and EAD and got done with biometric and recieved AOS interview letter too. Now just waiting with fingers crossed for EAD and interview. Meanwhile my parents sent me all the info I needed from India and also my belongings and certificates. Now I am preparing for USMLE for residency.

I need your valuable suggestions and help all the time. I will contribute all that I can to this lovely forum.

I am glad I got to find you people. Good luck to everyone and wish me luck too.

Well it's been a few days since I updated everyone. CSC began processing Neil's AOS on Tuesday...YAY! He went on Wednesday to change his social security card and they said the EAD wasn't on their computers yet so they took a copy of his EAD to verify it. They took his social security card though and didn't give it back? I guess the lady asked him is he wanted a copy of it or something. Not really sure what happened since my mom took him. I don't think he realized he actually needed his social security card. Hmmm...anyways I know the number. His AOS case has been touched every day since they started processing it at CSC. I hope that is a good sign! Nice to see all the EAD approvals coming through!

Thats good news about being recieved and the touches, I got the email yesterday saying they started working on my case there too, so hopefully soon!

I guess it must be. I check over the weekends, even though I expect nothing and touch on both! I am happy, hopefully it's near like you said and nothing bad!

My husband got an e-mail today saying they ordered his green card and he'll have it within 30 days. Of course our interview is on the 14th so hopefully it will be a mute point.

Could he theoretically work now?

What an idiot I am . I meant his EAD card. Wishful thinking on my part:-)

I was thinking how can he get the email when you haven't had an interview... if you weren't transferred....

Anyway he can not start work until he has something to prove work authorization in his possession. He can interview and accept a job prior to that though. Best wishes for the job hunt!

Hi LOSTUNDERWAVES... Congrats!! remember I got my EAD on saturday.. and when I went to apply SSN.. the SS dept found the same for me too.. my work authorization not in system yet so they said it might take 2-4 weeks for the SS card to arrive. :angry: Just one more wait for SSN now..

you can work without a SSN though... some employers are not aware of that but it is the case.

Yeah, but most places require online applications, and you have to have a SSN to fill them out, so we're stuck.
