AOS/EAD March filers.

tee hee.. Me & hubby fought over when USCIS can send e-mails. I said it's set up to e-mail over night.. he said it can happen anytime. Our "approved" EAD e-mail came at 10am Eastern Time.. our "arroved" greencard e-mail came over night..

It could happen at ANY time folks..

Wow, I am one of the few March filers without interview date or transfer... I am guarding my mail box expecting the interview appt, I had an RFE though and they just 'resumed' working on my case May 4th - maybe that's delaying it.

Also, I've heard (read in a post) the Texas Service Center is slow? And I am curious if I will have the interview in Houston or San Antonio. I am closer to Houston and that's where I had the biometrics, but the USCIS web site says Houston does not conduct interviews, only biometrics.... there's not even an InfoPass there. Oh well, probably will be San Antonio.

I think the USCIS case website should give you a message saying "GO OUTSIDE!" when you log in more than once or twice a day. I think I'm up to 4 or 5 so far today due to all this good news lately.

I think they do cut you off if you log on too much.... I did that one day with my K-1 and it showed something about it can't show me anymore... lol

Why would you be going through TSC? AOS would be sent to the local office and EAD or AP would be hamdled by the MSC. Do you have a case number with TCS on it?

Also jut guessing, bt assuming you had biometrics in Houston, then I assume you would have the interview here as well. The local office is on I-45 near Beltway 8 (near IAH airport). One vjers had his appointment for AOS there a couple months ago. We made an info pass there back in Feb.

Why would you be going through TSC? AOS would be sent to the local office and EAD or AP would be handled by the MSC. Do you have a case number with TCS on it?

I wasn't very sure about who handles what... I do have MSC in my case numbers and I had to send the RFE to Missouri. So... AOS gets sent to local office or CSC, EAD still handled by MSC.

AOS was touched a few times between them receiving the RFE on May 4th and my AOS standstill at May 9 assuming it was transfered to the local office

It makes sense though that the EAD wasn't touched at the time.

I just really hope USCIS are happy with the financial papers and I don't get hit with another RFE

It's nice to hear I'll probably have the interview in Houston. :)

Do you know what form it is that you fill out for the employer? Heis going to work for my uncle's company and he asked me to find the form for him cos he doesn't think he already has it.

Congratulations!!

I think he just needs to show his authorization letter and then they make a copy of his EAD card for his I-9. When I worked in an HR-type job, I had to see and make copies of the authorization document and fill in the A# and EAD expiration in section 1 of the I-9. He also needs to fill that in for Section 2 Part A for proof of identity.

Also, he is allowed to work immediately based on his approval e-mail; however, he will need to provide the actual document within 30 (?) days.

Whether or not he can work right away depends on the employer. As it is your uncle, it should be fine as he technically has 90 days to produce his EAD card. Other employers may be more sticky on this though. I am back to work, without the EAD card in my grubby hands.

Honestly, many employers don't have a clue as to how things should work, so my best advice to anyone else needing an answer to this question is to go in with everything prepared and let them know what is allowed if any questions arise.

Well ladies and Gents i just wanted to tell you that i awoke to an email which informed us that my EAD card was on its way, it made my wife and i so happy and i just wanted to share this with everyone....I congratulate those who have had success before me and i hope that everyone else has a lot of success after me.....

No problem! Someone above said 90 days to show EAD card, so that might be correct. He should have the card within a week, though.

He'll also have to fill in tax forms, but your uncle should already have those for his regular employees. We required all our employees to fill out an I-9, but since getting a "real" job, I haven't seen them since. It's a good idea when you have of non-USC workers, I suppose.

Congratulations, Scott! I hope my husband's is just around the corner.
