Thank you for having me in your thoughts... Everything was going well on my interview, especially when he said "everything seems good, you are APPROVED" he waited like 10 long seconds ( like to see my reaction on my face and then he said BUT your name check is NOT complete I was like nooooooooooooooo ( of course on my mind) it's so bittersweet because it's approved but namecheck can take forever.... I know all I can do it's wait soooo :crying: I hope this is not the beginning of name check limbo!! He also said that it was very common that the namecheck was not finished by the time of the interview, he said that he had 3 other cases that day (yesterday) that had the interview like me and were waiting on namecheck too.

I'm glad you updated us. It's good that your interview went well. Sorry to hear that you hadn't cleared name check yet. I am hoping that's not the case for us also. While it is good to have the interview early it is disappointment when you're not set to get your GC in two weeks after it. I hope that you get that lovely email soon saying they sent your Welcome letter!!

Best wishes,

Kristina

Hello, I just thought to introduce myself - I sent my AOS/EAD package in March and I am so much waiting for the EAD now!! it's funny but I hope I receive the EAD at least 3 weeks before the interview, lol, so me and hubby can save some $ for the trip

This forum is so awesome - feels good to see I am not the only one going through the immigration process - filling paperwork, not working and worrying about the outcome

Hey, I am terrified about that name check process!!

Molin - did you have any idea your name check was not complete!? Wow - it's like you just showed up for the interview and they served you the news!? Is your name common - I've read posts on the 'waiting name check' forum discussing that a widely used name might be a reason for not completing the process right away

I wish you get the name check completed very very soon!!!

:goofy: <--- here's a goofy face to cheer you up

June 15-07 : E-mail saying that "Approval notice sent" for EAD

July-11-07 Interview, I-130 approved, AOS pending (name check)

Aug-14-07 E-mail from CRIS, notifying a welcoming notice was sent to the new perm. resident!!!

Green card received in mail today!

I knew what it was by the return address, so there was someone coming into the lobby as I waited for the elevator...got her mail, I contemplated waiting and holding the elevator for her but I was like ######! I don't have time! And almost fell over running in my heels that give me blisters.

I ran into our apartment yelling MIRKO MIRKO! and tore it open :D he's so happy! He's like, "I'm going to social security tomorrow! Maybe I'll be in the system!"

I don't know if the uncommon/common name theory holds any water, but while my husband's names aren't all that uncommon in some countries SEPARATELY, together it makes for a very rare name. We had no name check hold up whatsoever.
