Well first off we got our NOA2 approval today ... WOOT !!

Do we wait till we get the "checklist" from Vancouver or is there paperwork that we can get started now?

How long does it take to get an RCMP criminal check and do we need the checklist before the RCMP will do such a check ?

Do I need to get a medical record of what shots I got ??

Also anyone who went through Vancouver could give me some advice ?

Sorry for all the questions as I am sure the answers are somewhere in some old posts ...

Thank you in advance :)

Congrats for NOA2

yes you can start with your paperwork DS230 partI DS 156& 156K I134 and gather all originals submitted for I129F for the interview

RCMP check can also be done at the Local Commissionaires office Rcmp chk in Ontario takes about 6-8 weeks

You need a record of your Immunization of the shots for the Medical

I am going through Montreal so not sure if all of these would be same for you

first of all, congratulations :)

Secondly, a lot of the information you are looking for are in the two links at the beginning of my signature, particularly in the first one. We don't have a ton of people going through Vancouver, but there are some differences than the Montreal Consulate, so you may want to look at the Vancouver links in those threads. :)

A lot of the information you can get started on right now, like:

--getting a copy of your long form birth certificate

--figuring out what you will need for your RCMP name check (some offices require a fee) and getting that done--the name check is good for 6 months. Name checks usually don't take very long to get back, but if you hvae had a prior criminal record or your name gets a "hit", the fingerprint check takes much much longer.

--figuring out what you will need for the medical (immunization records), and which certified doctor is closest to you, and making the appointment (some doctors won't do the medical until you have the package 3 letter from Vancouver)

--find out what forms Vancouver Consulate requires, and get prepared (I filled out a "dummy copy" first, so when my package arrived, I had everything corrected, and ready to be filled out, so I could get the information back to them ASAP).

Best wishes! :)

I just had my medical done today in Vancouver. My interview is scheduled for the end of April. It's a pretty fast to get interviews, and yes their e-mail skills are very good there!

Feel free to Personal Message me with any specific questions about Vancovuer.

Do you have your birth certificate yet? You need the large extended size, so if you haven't ordered it yet, order it now.
