for NC most schools go by how long the us citizen was in that state , so lucky for my to be fiance shell be able to finish her schooling here ,im sure other states have the same type of rules

Make sure you have all the contact information for requesting your official transcripts to be sent from your country to the school you wish to attend since sometimes it might be difficult to get that taken care of once in the USA. Would be great if you had those transcripts in English translation too from your school. You might also want to check the schools you wish to attend will accept evaluation of your academic history through such services as the World Education Services (WES). My wife had her transcripts evaluated through WES and the school she attended for nursing accepted evaluated transcripts through WES. WES determines if your courses are acceptable transfer credit, and assigns acceptable credits to each.
