I am about to be sworn in as a US citizen. I know that I want to sponsor my brother into the USA and that it will take more than a decade for his priority date to become current, but the question I have is: how will this affect him being able to visit me, should he wish to?

I understand that the onus is on us to prove that he will not overstay, and I know he will not (I wouldn't allow it), but is getting a tourist visa even possible once the petition is in?

I do not believe for most it makes any difference, but just to be safe if he does not have a visa he should apply for one before you petition him.
