I'm sorta new here, been lurking in the background for a few months.

Entered the USA in December 2015, got married in January 2016, filed for AOS late January 2016. Biometrics in February, got a RFE and we responded in March/April. REceived EAD and AP combo card last week. I'm wondering how long before i should contact USCIS regarding AOS status?

Wouldn't start to worry or take action until after 6 months. GCs usually take 6 -9 months. The EAD/AP should ease the urgency of the GC for the time being.

Based on the location in your profile, the USCIS field office processing your I-485 would be Atlanta, GA. According to the USCIS processing dates page, as of 3/31/16 that office was processing applications dated 30 September 2015.

Even taking into account that those dates are from 6 weeks ago, it's likely to be at least a couple more months before they get to a January 2016 application. All you can do is wait, but at least now that you have the EAD and AP you're able to work and travel while you do so.

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".
