Good Mornin

we were approve for a our spousal visa May 11,2016 in Lagos Nigeria.... told to pick up his visa in 2 weeks....this morning the embassy called my husband to re-interview ...he asked if he should bring anything with him and the lady told him no documents are needed just to come this Friday for re-interview......I was wondering if anyone has been thru this experience...and if so can you let me know your experience....thank you for your help

This actually just happened to someone I know. She was approved for the spousal visa earlier this month and was given 2 weeks to pick up the visa, but last week the embassy called her for a second interview which she attended yesterday. When they called her she pressed them on what the issue was and they said it had to do with her birth date. She applied for a visitor's visa some years ago and unknowingly entered an incorrect birth date. So I believe they checked the prior application and compared it with the spousal one and noticed the discrepancy.

She did bring all the evidence that she carried the first time along with an affidavit from the court and was asked several questions, but in the end they told her they would approve it and gave her another 2 weeks to pick up the visa.

I would advise that your husband bring all the documents with him just in case. Not really sure what the issue would be since they didn't specify, but he should be prepared to answer more questions. But hopefully it's just the name check situation like NigeriaorBust mentioned. All the best to you and your husband.

Hey Im back

My husband was approved for a spousal visa a few days later he got a call to do a reinterview.... they gave him 2 pieces of paper I-601 and 221(a)(6)©(i) the lady interviewer kept saying it has something to do with May 2015 and that our K-1 which was denied because they said we couldnt prove a bonafide relationship was a sham or fraud....

we filed a K-1 cause we had a commitment ceremony in South Africa not a legal marriage....so I filed a K-1 cause we werent legally married....which I thought was the right thing to do...be honest tell the truth they say so we did...

my questions are Has anyone dealt with this and how?

cause Im at a loss we dont know where to even start
