In the IV package I included 2 2x2 pictures of my husband, a copy of the biographical page of his passport, copy of his birth certificate, copy of our marriage certificate, and copy of his police clearance.

As for the cover sheet and what to include in your package, just include what pertains to your case.

so there should be two different envelopes and then just send everything in one

because in the cover they sent me it doesnt say anything about the picture

It's on the official Department of State website that you should include 2 pictures, so it's better to include it instead of getting a checklist, which would delay you for another month. Better safe than sorry.

I put the AOS paperwork in one manila envelope, and the IV paperwork in another manila envelope, then put them in the same mailing envelope.

The AOS is all about the petitioner. So you send the i-864, your tax transcripts, and anything else that is needed for the affidavit of support. While the IV package is all about the immigrant. Therefore, all the civil documents of the immigrant go there.

But does anyone know: We are filling out the visa application and there is this questions "Did you serve in the military?" What do they mean, my husband did the 4 months military training that was required by law back then in Bosnia! It is not mandatory anymore.

Hi E & E! I think you would choose "NO" for that question because your husband never did active service in the military.

hey guys quick question for the social security question should we put down that they send it to us or we should go to the office and ask for the social security

and one other question how long does it take to get one and when can we go and apply for one

I'm unsure if it's the same for your country, but usually after the interview, if you have been approved, they will ask you where you would like your visa to be sent.

After you send NVC your documents and they scan it, it can take anywhere from 2wks to 60 days for them to review your case. But the estimated time lately has been approximately 30 days.
