Hi friends i am new in this forum . I saw this forum and wanted to add myself too. So we can all help each other in this journey. I am an april filer and i got my NOA2 on june 8. My case was transfer to the nvc on june 17. But i havent hear anything after that . I read a post by farzram and it gave me some hope. Otherwise i was worried evryday as i saw many cases were already received by nvc. Hopefully it will reach to nvc soon.

Hi! It can take up to 6wks for NVC to issue you a case number, so patience is definitely needed. I'm waiting for my case to be reviewed (my scan date is June 9th).

USCIS Process:
Sent I-130 (via USPS): February 20, 2016
NOA1 hardcopy received: February 26, 2016
NOA2 approval text & email: May 6, 2016 (71 days from NOA1)
Petition sent to NVC text & email: May 11, 2016

NVC Process:
Case number and IIN Assigned: May 26, 2016
Choice of Agent (DS-261) completed: May 27, 2016
AOS Fee Invoiced: May 27, 2016

Hey there! I really believe - well I hope- that we should be getting there this week. Like I said another VJ member who was approved a day after me got in touch with a tier 2 officer at USCIS and they said their petition was sent June 24th so I'm hoping we get there this week! I'll keep you posted if I find anything out or they receive mine and let you know. Once it's there I think things move even faster after that point.

It can take up to 6wks to receive a case number, and also up to 6wks to get CC. It probably won't take 6wks but that is the usual time frame NVC gives.

Thanks for the reply(ies) so I read somewhere that it also depends on which center the case is coming from. I am not sure if that is true or not. I have seen people whose case being approved from Potomac is getting their cases at nvc faster. But then again Idk how true that theory is. anyways I will call nvc a week after it is transferred.

btw people should keep calling nvc after 3 weeks if the case still hasn't been assign. in fact i read that sometimes they assign a case but you often don't know until much later, the best option is to call and be on top of things.

Someone that had a scan date of June 6 just got CC today. NVC is moving at the expected pace of 30-32 days to review cases. Just be patient, our time will come soon!

Yea I just got off the phone myself to see if they received my mail and they said it takes them upto 6 weeks to get a mail and then few more weeks to assign the case and contact us and then a month or more to start working on it. I guess this is a standard answer they give everyone. I will call them once a week to see if they received my case. Did anyone else do that? I guess 30 days is normal processing days right now? That is what my NOA2 said.

Yes, 6wks is their standard answer for everything :rolleyes: When it has been at least 3wks since NOA2, I suggest calling once a week to stay on top of things. Although I noticed it has been taking longer than usual for people to get their case numbers lately.

Yea i noticed that. but here is my dilemma, I am planning to visit my husband in august and plan to stay there for a bit. Here's the thing, I am filing out the AOS and i need to know what should I put my physical address, here or the one there while I am away. I want to leave all the paper works ready to be mailed with the help of my parents. I also need help with my AOS as I am a little confused about it.

Anyone who would like to help me, can message me please?
