hello,

i have a question, i am applying for AOS soon, and ive watched on youtube, it says there that if im applying for AOS then i should be applying for the form i-131 (application for travel document) and i-765 (employment authorization document), clearly i dont have any plans of traveling out of the USA, for now, do i really have to apply for it? because applyng for the three of them all at once is a little expensive. so if i can apply for the i-131 later then it will be of big help financially.

hope you get to help me.

thank you.

The fees for the I-765(EAD-work authorization) and I-131(AP-advance parole for travel) are waived when filed with a pending I-485, so include both of those too. It takes about 60-90 days to receive the EAD/AP combo card, which will allow you to work(along with an SSN) and re-enter the US when traveling abroad while waiting for the green card approval.

See Special Instructions> https://www.uscis.gov/i-485

You don't have to, but you should. The green card might take up to a year or sometimes even longer. The EAD and AP give you the ability to get a SSN (if you don't have one already), a drivers license, allow you to work, and leave and re-enter the US. Since they are free to apply with AOS then you might as well.
