We are from India. I have applied K3/K4 visa (I-130) for my wife and child in mid of Jan 2016 and we have received NOA1. Afterwards, I sent I-129F in mid of Feb 2016. I just want to know how long it takes to get I-129F appoveral. How long will it take in case I-130 get approves before I-129F.

You are looking at about a year from filing to interview.

Keep in mind the K3 will almost certainly be administratively closed at NVC stage, so be prepared to go the CR-1 route, which is the superior visa in most cases anyways, as it means the beneficiary can work and travel right away.

Like others have stated it will be about a year. you're really doing the I-130 route. the K3 is pretty much obsolete and/or useless. I filed the K3 after my I-130 (last July 2015) and on 5/13/2016 I got a letter in the mail saying they closed my K3 petition request because my I-130 was approved. You might as well change your Visa category to CR1 on your profile.

Looks like your petition was sent to Nebraska so you're looking at least 5 months before you get approval from there. I would encourage you to start reading about the NVC (national Visa Center) stage process so you can start gathering your documents and preparing for that now. Use this time wisely. NVC stage will go quicker for you if you prepare for it now.

Hi ,

My I-130 has been approved and the case will be sent to NVC.

When I file for K3/K4 visa, I hired a lawyer to do my paper work due to discrepancy with their last names. I thought he knows about details regrading all these visas. The agreement we got was getting visas for my wife and child.

But now he asking new contract for Consular process.

My questions is "Can I remove the lawyer and do it my own ? "

I have noticed that NVC received I-130 for few of the VJ members within couple of weeks. My I-130 got approved 5/19/16.

What kind of questions I could ask them regarding my I-130 ?
