hi I know this is off the topic but I was wondering if someone could answer a question. That is my wife will be doing her n400 soon and my question is can her son do his as well or does he have to wait the full 5 years

hi

how old is he? if he Is under 18 and a LPR, he will derive citizenship after she has her oath ceremony

if you filed for him and he is over 18, then yes, he will have to wait 5 years for citizenship. the 3 year rule only pertains to spouses of USC

children/stepchildren have to wait 5 years, 90 days before his 5 years, he can file the N400
