Hey guys,

I had my interview and received my package from the consulate, The package came with a print out that said do not open, and my passport was in the shipping envelope not the actual package. I am just confirming that my next step is to cross the border and have the border peeps do there thing with the package?

Thanks!

Yup, you are correct. That's pretty much all there is to it. You'll get pulled into secondary where you'll wait a few as they process it. When my wife came across, it took 5 guards to figure out what to do, one even said "I haven't seen this in 5 years". Finally the last guard walked up with a little book telling them exactly what to do. Also they repeatedly asked us "when are you guys getting married" about 10-12 times. Other than that it was pretty easy, just annoying with the wait.

that was easy. I can't believe all that work to get this done, for a 4 minute interview that within the 4 minutes talked more about things off topic than the actual visa part. I have been through the wait like that before with a P1 Visa, same thing, took a while because they weren't exactly sure how to do it.

Well since you're K1 a lot of your work comes after the POE since you have to get married then file the AOS. (I do not envy K1 for the amount of sheer paperwork you guys have to do...) But in general people are so nervous about their interviews and I'm like, relax, honestly, if you have a genuine relationship, you did your homework and have all your necessary paperwork, and you're not from a high fraud country originally, then you're golden. It's really not that difficult. At least not for low fraud countries like Canada.

The only really annoying thing about POE is if you get a snarky officer or have issues importing a car.
