Police certificates are not required for Pakistan.

Not important at all, these affidavits carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file.

You won't need a police certificate from Pakistan but if you have lived in another country for six months or more as an adult or if you have been arrested in another country you will need a certificate from those countries.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Oh hai JFH, didn't expect you posting into Pakistan specific threads :)

I believe the reason they don't want a Pakistan Police Certificate is because we don't really have a digitized criminal record system of any sorts.

Looking at the Islamabad Embassy interview updates, almost everyone is being put into 1-5 or so months of AP (admin processing) - I believe this is where the embassy performs any background checks on their own. I haven't seen this process in other embassies, so might be limited to our region.

It's quite common for a) countries who have unreliable police checks and b)countries with known terrorists and c) high fraud countries.
