Question about I-131 document

Hi,

I have been researching from the past few months the steps on filing the proper documents for my husband. As I understand I can file the I-130 and I-485 together.

My question is regarding the I-131 travel document. My husband will like to travel to Bermuda in June. If we file the I-485 prior to this date and he travels, it seems like the application will be denied as it seems he abandoned the application.

Should we file the I-131 together with the I-485 and get approval for his travel or should we wait until he returns to the US to file the I-130 and I-485?

If he applies now he won't get it by June. It takes close to 90 days to get after applying.

~~moved to AOS from work, tourist, and student visas from IR1/CR1 process and procedures. OP is adjusting status not chasing a visa~~

Then he should file AOS now and not leave until he gets AP, or else do Consular Processing abroad. He cannot re-enter the US on a tourist visa with intent to file I-485 on that entry.
