Hello, I checked my case status online for my form I-485 and it read:

"My case was approved. On May with 2016 we approved your form I-485 for adjustment of status or permanent residency. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in this notice "

I am excited but hesitate to celebrate too much. I am curious if anyone has received this notice and know what instructions are on it. I have not been to an interview and i know some cases their interviews are waived but seems like most people are notified for that.

Any ideas? Will I be getting a GC now or what should i expect in this notice. I am too impatient to wait for it in the mail haha

Have you seen references on VJ to a "Welcome letter"? That's what your I-485 approval notice is. Yes, you will be receiving a GC, and probably very soon.

My status was updated online on 9/10/15 to say that my I-485 had been approved, my welcome letter arrived on 9/15/15, I got a text on 9/15/15 that my GC had been mailed and it was in my sticky little hands on 9/17/15.

Congratulations!!!

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".

Congrats. The instructions are the welcome letter and telling you to remove conditions in 2 years if you have a conditional residency and to register for the draft if you're male between 18 and 26. Read the entire thing and make note of what you must do, but its not really more hoops to jump through before becoming a legal resident.
