Grounds for the Fiance Visa

I'm currently trying to book flights for my fiance and I (because I am going to visit her family when she comes back with me) for after she receives her visa. Anyone know if I would be able to have our flights arranged with the final destination being a Canadian airport and just do the Customs thing when we cross over from Canada into the U.S.?

The reason I ask is because airline tickets are too high for me to pay in every major city in the western U.S. from the Mountain West westward. But Vancouver International has insanely cheap international flights under $600 round-trip.

Any insight would be most appreciated!

Your post is awfully confusing. What stage are you at? The interview is in Montreal? So you want to fly to Canada, your fiance has the interview, and then you both fly to Vancouver and then cross by land in to the US?

If that is the situation, then yes that is fine. You'll cross via a land crossing and go through immigration there.

If this is not the situation, then please give us a clearer picture.

Good luck

Yes, you can do immigration at a Canadian landbridge.

She will probably need another visa just to enter Canada so we could drive back together to the United States in which I am starting to believe that it was wishful thinking to believe I could get a round-trip ticket for me and a one-way ticket for her at a price under $1500.

- Sometimes round trip tickets are cheaper, look into that for her (if that is how you book, be sure to cancel the return portion once she is in the USA, so the airline doesn't accidentally tell the government that she left!).

- It MAY be possible to buy a separate ticket for jsut the Canada-US portion of the flight with a discount airline?
