Just wondering if there is anyone here who are from or will be moving to Florida? specifically in or close to Lake Placid? Maybe we can keep in touch and you can share with me some tips and advice or your personal experiences in living there? I'm looking at moving there early June if my visa gets approved and there are no other problems. Thanks!

May 30, 2018 - NOA received

Mar 15, 2019 - Biometrics appointment for I-751

Mar 20, 2019 -  Petition I-751 approved

Mar 27, 2019 -  10-year Green Card received in mail

Sep 24, 2020 -  N400 application sent online; biometrics reused (no addt'l appt)

Jan 14, 2021 -  N400 interview/test scheduled - APPROVED

Jan 19, 2021 -  Oath-taking ceremony!

I heard of Lake placid in the state of New York, I've never heard of Lake placid in Florida. I live in Florida, in Miami to be exact, but I'm sure Miami is very different than the small town that you are potentially moving to. All I can say is that Florida is beautiful, the weather is great and life is affordable.

Hi, my hubby too is from Florida, Daytona beach. We are just 155 miles from Lake Placid.FL

I too will relocate there soon after my interview. Pls keep in touch.

There are two lake Placids.

One is Lake Placid. NY

And the other one is Lake Placid. FL :)

I am from Florida, born and raised. I am familiar with that area, but I am from NE Florida, near Jacksonville. My step-brother lives very near there in Arcadia. I think you will find the area quiet and a bit rural, although the big cities are not all THAT far away. The Sarasota area along the Gulf Coast has some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. Venice Beach is simply amazing! I hope that you like water, because that part of the state has lakes everywhere. Swimming, fishing, boating, etc etc etc are the most popular things to do. :dancing:
