A long birth certificate has the name of the parents on it. So your birth certificate has to have your parents name on it. If it does not it is a short birth certificate. Also, if I am not mistaken a long birth certificate normally has a seal on it or a stamp on it.

Aren't you paying rapidvisa to help you?

Anyway, it doesn't say long term. It says long form. You always need to provide the long form for immigration. A long form birth certificate contains all the information, including that of the parents. It is usually just a scanned image of the original paper certificate. Check with your country to know exactly what constitutes a long and short version there.

i was confused abt long term or long form.sorry

is it ok if i make my BC in long form now? doesnt its date of issue matter ? what i m confused is i thought long form BC should be issued within 1 year of birth and include the all info abt my parents etc. is it true? if i make my BC now then its date of issue ll be May,2016

Contact whatever agency it is in your country that issues birth certificates and get a long form. It doesn't matter if it is recently issued. Also, I suggest you get an extra one or two to bring with you to the US.

Not sure which city you are from but Nepal's VDCs/municipal offices/CDOs that provide BC don't give you multiple originals. If your birth was never registered and you go to get BC now, you will register your birth now and they will provide you your BC (which is always a long form) with the issue date the current day. Since USCIS/NVC/US embassy does not consider such document as the actual birth certificate because of late registration, you have to get some secondary evidences too (like affidavits of birth, any school records showing your date of birth and/or parents name, copy of passport....)
