Does it take this long :I-130:

I am a USC (Arab American) who filled an I-130 for his wife back in august 2006( NOV1 August 21,2006). Since then there is no update with my my case at all. I was checking the CSC web site to see whats the last update and they are processing Sept 13,2006. My question is this normal process time or are they taking there time when it comes to Arab American ?

The processing times listed on the USCIS web site are alway outdated. If you look at timelines of other VJ members, you can see that those processing times the USCIS lists are not updated appropriately.

There are a few things you can do:

1. Make an info pass appointment with immigration in your city. You can meet with them and have them check on your case. They can actually contact CSC directly. Here's the link: INFOPASS
   
2. Contact the USCIS Ombudsman. The USCIS Ombudsman can assist when cases are outside of normal processing times: USCIS Ombudsman
   
3. You can also contact your congressman and/or senator if the first 2 paths do not work for you: US Congressional Representatives (By State) / US Senators
   

I certainly would not wait any longer to contact someone, 7 months is long enough. I would definitely start with the Infopass appointment to see what the immigration officers can find out about your case before contacting the Ombudsman or your congressional rep. I wish you luck in finding out something about your case.

Kiyah thank you for your fast response to my case I called immigration service agents more then 3 time and no information was given so I think infopass is useless. However , I just finished writing a letter to the USCIS Ombudsman and will send it tomorrow morning ASAP..... thanks again for this info ..

I took the advise that Kiyah give and wrote a letter to USCIS Ombudsman then I wrote a letter to my congresswomen and a letter my senator all at the same time March 18. Now my case has been Touched

on March 27, 28, 29 but not approved yet.....Do you guys think the approval is coming soon ?..........

New update!!!!!!

I just got an email from CSC it reads :

Receipt Number: WACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: We mailed you a notice requesting additional evidence.

On April 3, 2007, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.

Can anyone tell me what kind of additional evedence there looking for? please help

write or call your congressman. They will help. I even took my packet there for them to mail with their stamp of approval which I fully believed helped. ANd I have heard it through here your congressman does help call to talk to someone. All the best

Did you add photos your wedding certificate maybe a letter on how you met and where you got married and who was there. That is what I added for proff but we have been together for like 9 years. I would call your congressman and still ask someone there to help you. Bring in all the forms for the I-130. Did you make copies of what you sent? I sould show all the copies and ask them what else you should send. My congressman people knew there stuff. Try it. It may work !! Then they can send it in for you with your stamp trust me it will save you some time.
