Medical is next week:

In my folder I have:

  • My passport.
  • 4 UK style photos (they said either was fine).
  • Letter from GP re: health conditions.
  • Vaccination transcript signed and stamped by GP (and a spare one which isn't signed).
  • Police certificate
  • Glasses prescription.
  • Medical questionnaire.
  • Directions to interview.
  • DS-160 form printed out.

Additionally for interview I have:

  • My daughters passports (US and UK), her birth certificate, born abroad certificate.
  • My birth certificate and passport.
  • The Affidavit and a letter from his work stating position permanent, wages and position.
  • Divorce decree.
  • Paperwork from the court stating I can take my daughter to the US to relocate and to apply for a mirror order.
  • Copy of email sent to CAFFCASS from my ex saying he agrees to the move.

Am I missing anything for either? I think I have it all but I just want to double check. Of course when I get the check list I will check again.

Interview (more)--

US passport photo

Police certificate

DS-160 confirmation page

Interview confirmation

Receipt for paying visa fee

Any name changes from birth certificate?

The checklist is on London website. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

I don't think they will need anything about your daughter since she is not applying for a visa.

  • Do I need another US picture for the interview? I thought they used the one online? I have 3 from when I applied but they might be out of date by then so I can get those easily enough.
  • I have police certificate.
  • I have DS-160 page already, I printed it to take to my medical.
  • Name changes, I have a copy of my old marriage certificate, but my name is back to what is on my passport and birth certificate (I use my maiden name) and my divorce decree so hopefully that will be ok.

I figured I'd bring her information anyway just in case? I thought it might look odd that I have a child and haven't applied for a visa for her. So thought just in case I would take it with me.

Fee and interview confirmation I will definitely get when I have done those bits.

Passport photo- named that because it's on the list and you didn't mention it anywhere.

Not saying don't take whatever you want about daughter. I was just thinking it's about you and your documentation and your eligibility for a visa. Who goes with you without a visa probably doesn't concern the visa unit. Not everybody takes their kids.

Looks like everything. I've gone through my folder and not much different. One important thing you didn't put on though is evidence of ongoing relationship? I was under the impression we needed to take proof of a genuine relationship with us?

Nobody in the last eight years has been asked for that in London, but you might.

Now that you have that done, you can start filling out your AOS docs and save to your computer. I actually did that early and filed about 9 days after POE.

Yay me! :P

LOL, I might just... I'm only doing EAD and AOS since I won't be able to travel for at least a year because of finances. We are doing a court house thing after I get my SSN and then having our ceremony in October.

Do AP!!!!! No excuse for not doing it.

Do you have a family? What if one of them tragically dies? It's free and insurance for those terrible things we never plan on happening.

I can do it. It just seems pointless when even if something did happen I couldn't afford to come back... We just won't have the finances after the wedding and all the moving costs.
