G325A...need help!

I am in need of your opinions.

Thanks to this website, I was able to do all the paperwork for AOS and got my greencard, so thank you!

Now, my father in law (irish citizen) wants to move here and he wants to apply for AOS. In the beginning, he asked my husband who is a US citizen, to fill out I864, but my husband said no (he has his own justified reasons). Now his dad is trying to get him to sign just one documents out of the whole package, G325A. I feel very skeptical about this whole thing. If my husband is not petitioning his dad, why does he needs to sign the G325A? If I remember correctly, only the person applying for the GC needs to fill out the G325A right?

How is he intending to move to the US if his son is not sponsoring him?

His father claims that his lawyer says he can sponsor himself based on his income through pensions. Is that true or a US child needs to sponsor him?

I don't understand. He is just going to enter the US on the VWP and file for AOS and self-sponsor? Under what eligibility does he think he is able to just to come to the US, stay and apply for a green card?

I wonder if the father in law is planning to forge his son's signature from a G-325A onto other documents, like I-130, I-864, etc.

A petitioner would need to sign a G-325A, so since your husband isn't petitioning for him or filing for his adjustment of status, he definitely shouldn't sign anything.
