On the i-134: what should I include in "mortgage(s) or other encumbrance(s)?

I live in an apartment and pay a car note and student loan. Should I put utilities and other bills?

Should I fill the i-134 and send it to her before or after she completes the DS160?

I've seen this question asked before on VJ and the consensus is If your income meets the poverty guidelines, you do not have to fill in any of those lines.

For example here is one similar thread, see post #2.

^ I guess I need to learn to use the search function...

Another question on i134:

On #11, Since she's my fiancee, obviously I'll be taking care of her and she'll be living with me. Should I even answer this and list down that she'll be living with me forever?

Another question on i134:

On #11, Since she's my fiancee, obviously I'll be taking care of her and she'll be living with me. Should I even answer this and list down that she'll be living with me forever?

In the "example forms" section at top of page, there is a sample completed I-134 form. I filled out section 10 and 11 exactly like that and so far so good, of course we have not been through interview yet.

There are two guys on the Philippines sub-forum that are very knowledgeable. I asked one of them the same question and the answer was this:

"On #11 leave it all blank if you want, really doesn't matter, check INTEND if you want and in the space below write K-1 visa.

The I-134 is designed for different visas so doesn't really fit with the K-1 visa very well".

Question directly to you jusper:

How long did it take after you submitted your DS160 to schedule the interview?

Did you submit the packet3 and the DS160 at the same time?

Packet 3 should include the Immigrant / Fiancé(e) & K Visa Application Checklist from the Embassy correct?

We did it all in one weekend.

Here are the steps.

1.) Pay your fee at BPI

2.) schedule your interview online

3.) complete your DS160

4.) preregister for medical at St. Lukes.

We have not received packet 3 and my understanding is you don't need to wait for it either. you can do everything yourself at this point in the order stated above.

Can somebody explain this please. I just check the status of my case at the NVC web page and it shows a message asking to follow 6 steps this is one of them.

what is the DS-260 ??? I though we should only fill the DS-160 form.

or can somebody explain what they did after received the CASE NUMBER from NVC?

Im lost !!!!

Step (1) – Go to the “Consular Electronic Application Center.”

To pay your NVC fees, navigate to http://ceac.state.gov. This is the State Department’s Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website. It will be used to receive your payment, and later to submit your online DS-260 visa application. I recommend using an updated Internet Explorer browser to access the site, as there can be problems with other browsers. (Download Internet Explorer for free here). I would also discourage you from using your smartphone, as these browsers are also not supported. Before logging into the website, make sure you have the invoice with you since you’ll need information from it.

After navigating to http://ceac.state.gov, select the “fee payment” option.

just ignore the message .. it is a standard message and it more toward spouse visa ... later when it shows your case is ready you will see a message saying your appointment date was scheduled and sent to you .. ignore that also.

yes we (K1 visa) are concerned by the DS-160 ... the rest depends on your embassy (how to pay and schedule appointment)

Hi, BSMOLI, how did you get this message from NVC? Is there a website for you to check your case status with NVC?

Did you already have the i-134 (Affidavit of Support) before hand?

I was waiting to send this to my Fiancee. I guess now's a good time to send it to her? But it seems she can't submit the DS160 until the i134 gets to her.

i did not get any thing from NVC expect case number and invoice ID. no letter, mail or email . nothing.

when it shows 'in transit" it means your application is sent and on its way to your embassy....when it sows " ready" it means it is at your embassy .. then see your country forum to get the next step.
