Hi peeps,

Do you think its safe to say that I can start filling out

  • DS-160
  • DS-260
  • DS-261

Since I now have my Case#, Invoice# and Beneficiary#? I just at least want to do those before my I-129f is at the embassy.

Also, is anyone doing a K2 visa as well? For some reason, I didnt get a Alien number for my stepson. Is that normal

From what I gathered, a person can file DS-160 but can't schedule an interview until Consulate tells you to do so, and he can't do a medical without the confirmed interview date. Some experienced members might be able to give you more accurate information. I think because you only filed one I-129F for the principal and your future step son doesn't have his own petition, so until he applies for AOS he won't have his own A number.

Hey NAT2016,

That sounds about right for my stepsons K2 visa. From what I have been reading as well, he does not get it until he files AOS.

As for my Fiances, I will do her forms once I get home :D. Excited to finally jump over this obstacle.

So here are some interesting I-129F statistics from case #1690478000 - #1690483000. These are from dates received from 23 May - 26 May 2016. I had no idea there were that many cases in a 3 day period.

Total cases: 658

Pending cases: 79

Approved cases: 315

RFE cases: 232

MISC cases: 32

And these are just I-129F cases. No wonder why it takes so long to process.

LJ where you got this statistics from?? That's crazy!

I pulled them off the USCIS app under the search function. I plugged in a start receipt and did a 500 count at a time. Then you can sort by I-129, etc. Be careful because the app only lets you do about 2500-3000 cases and then will lock you out of the site. Then counted the numbers and put them in an excel sheet. The results are quite interesting.

Hey SM. I see your NOA1 is a few days before mine and I'm feeling your pain! I was getting more and more upset each day as the approvals started to come in for the people in June. I'm happy for them, but was beginning to think maybe they lost my paperwork and was debating on calling them until I started messing around with the app in frustration. But now I know why it takes so long. I didn't realize the volume they are processing so I figured I might give them a few more weeks until I make a call. Hahaha

Good luck to all of us waiting. Hopefully its soon! We can only pray!!!

they gave me the case number yesterday 11 days after NOA2 how long should I wait to start tracking if they don't give me a tracking number??

another thing we called to the doctor in Ecuador to make an appointment and he asked us for the interview date in order to give as the appointment? he said that in the NVC receipt we will find the interview date??

What i know is that we have to get on line fill up the DS-160 form and then pay and choose a date?

every day we are getting closer to the end of this K1 visa journey and this is more confusing sometimes that I feel lost.

So basically we were approved on the same day, but they are yet to receive my case, what could go wrong?

Got my RFE letter this morning

I am very disappointed that my lawyer did not do what it is asking for, this is what I need to do:

1. US Citizenship- ( proof I am a US citizen; my lawyer never asked for my US Passport nor birth certificate)

2. Beneficiary's Intent to marry- ( never requested for this letter from my fiancee'; I was with her throughout the whole filing months Feb-2016 thru July 2016)

3. Requirement that Petitioner and Beneficiary have met in person- ( never asked for my visa entry stamps from passport, boarding passes; he only asked for photos and a letter of how we met)

4. G-325A Biographic Information- ( incomplete form and not checked before it was sent to USCIS)

Had I not been doing my chemotherapy, I could have successfully done this myself. Sadly, I am further delayed.

I checked and called and emailed him before I left my fiancee' that everything was in order and he informed me it was.

This is really a sad day.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Good luck to all the NOA2's......we are behind you guys.

No choice but to ride the storm out.

Love will WIN.

Hang in there. I saw some posts mentioned about RFE and got approved right after they submitted required documents. If I remember I-129F instruction correctly, you will need to submit every single page of U.S. passport if, you choose to use U.S. passport as your proof of citizenship. Or, you can send copy of birth certificate. All these can be done within one or two days. Beneficiary Intent to Marry and Beneficiary G-325A will need her signature but I don't know if she can email you the documents, or she will have to send them by express mail. I-129F does say copies are accepted though. We will get there, sooner or later.

I am sorry that happened to you especially considering the fee you probably paid the lawyer. Perhaps tell him about Visa Journey, and he will be able to file a proper I-129 F in the future. I don't intend that as snarky towards you by any means, I am just appalled by what your RFE is for. But as the above poster said, it seems once the documentation is submitted, approvals are quick to follow!

05.12.16 - Petition received at USCIS

05.16.16 - NOA 1

05.21.16 - Hard copy NOA 1

07.21.16 - NOA 2

07.25.16 - Hard copy of NOA 2

08.05.16 - NVC case number assigned

08.10.16 - Case received at consulate, packet 3 received, DS-160 submitted

08.11.16 - Packet 3 mailed to embassy

08.18.16 - Packet 4 received, visa fee paid, letter from NVC arrived

09.02.16 - Medical

09.22.16 - Interview, received 221(g) :crying:, Case changed to administrative processing for missing documents :protest:

10.03.16 - Mailed off response to 221(g), bye bye passport

10.04.16 - Package containing documents + passport arrived at the Amsterdam consulate

10.17.16 - Approved!!!

10.18.16- Visa in hand! :dancing:
