Thank you for your reply. What do I need the case number for?

By having the case number, you can track when your case leaves NVC going to the embassy, and when the embassy receives it. Some embassies allow you to schedule your own interview, and I would assume the case number is needed in order to do that.

05.12.16 - Petition received at USCIS

05.16.16 - NOA 1

05.21.16 - Hard copy NOA 1

07.21.16 - NOA 2

07.25.16 - Hard copy of NOA 2

08.05.16 - NVC case number assigned

08.10.16 - Case received at consulate, packet 3 received, DS-160 submitted

08.11.16 - Packet 3 mailed to embassy

08.18.16 - Packet 4 received, visa fee paid, letter from NVC arrived

09.02.16 - Medical

09.22.16 - Interview, received 221(g) :crying:, Case changed to administrative processing for missing documents :protest:

10.03.16 - Mailed off response to 221(g), bye bye passport

10.04.16 - Package containing documents + passport arrived at the Amsterdam consulate

10.17.16 - Approved!!!

10.18.16- Visa in hand! :dancing:

10.21.16 - POE

Thanks. This whole processing is like walking in a maze and we need to find out everything by ourselves, but thanks to you and all other members help.

they gave me the case number yesterday 11 days after NOA2 how long should I wait to start tracking if they don't give me a tracking number??

another thing we called to the doctor in Ecuador to make an appointment and he asked us for the interview date in order to give as the appointment? he said that in the NVC receipt we will find the interview date??

What i know is that we have to get on line fill up the DS-160 form and then pay and choose a date?

every day we are getting closer to the end of this K1 visa journey and this is more confusing sometimes that I feel lost.

Did you ever receive the post activity email from USCIS? I never did and I have the same NOA2 date as you. I never even received a text message for my NOA2. My phone apps updated me and shortly after I received the notice in the mail. Today I just called and there is no sign of my case at the NVC.

I'm the same way.

I got 1 text stating that they received my packet and that was it - before NOA1.

I'm kinda pissed that they expect my fiancee to log in to do the DS160 when no one gave her one of the login information so I had to call them for that information.

What kind information did you fiancee need to log in?

I only got NOA1 hard copy and that's it. No text nor email for my NOA2 although it's approved on Aug. 02 and they said has mailed. I am really worried that my fiance will miss anything or can't finish the visa application in time. So I guess I should call NVC everyday for a case number and tracking time.

I hate to ask this again, but I haven't gotten my NOA2 yet? They are already processing to mid-June. Should I call USCIS for an inquiry or should I give it a little bit longer? Or am i just panicking? Advice please.

I just checked USCIS status and got "Document returned to USCIS" by post office. I filed a request to ask them mail it again. Since we don't need it until AOS, I guess we could take some time and focus on NVC now.

Since there are several people got same message, I wonder if CIS has ever mailed those notices. What could went wrong if we all got our NOA1?

True. However, my case hasn't been touched since May 31. Still says case received on the website.

If you didn't receive a request for further information, I guess the adjudicator was or is having vacation now which is very common in summer.

Man, that sucks! They should hand their cases over to someone else before they are allowed to take leave. It's what I do in my job. LOL

Hi peeps,

Do you think its safe to say that I can start filling out

  • DS-160
  • DS-260
  • DS-261

Since I now have my Case#, Invoice# and Beneficiary#? I just at least want to do those before my I-129f is at the embassy.

Also, is anyone doing a K2 visa as well? For some reason, I didnt get a Alien number for my stepson. Is that normal
