just checked nvc and my case is in transit however this message shows.

:"Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center"

does this mean the nvc chose our interview date?? I thought we do

another thing what do we do now? we havent even filed our ds160, nor paid the fee nor nothing. any suggestions? we are clueless :(

Totally agree with you. I'm not nervous anymore just more and more disjointed each day. LOL Did you call on yours or just wait?

I sure did call everyday.Instead of an approval, I received an RFE for proof of having met within the last two years prior to filing our petition even though it was submitted with the initial packet. However,RFE was approved in 8 days.

That is a generic statement that everyone gets! I think it's geared more towards spousal visas, and not us, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, check your embassy portal here on VJ. Some countries do allow you to schedule your own online. Others (like us in the Nerherlands) have to wait on the embassy to schedule and mail to us.

So the fiancee got mail on Aug 13th from the NVC stating to log in and fill out a form.

I didn't get anything.

Also, I didn't get a number required to log in to the https://ceac.state.gov/ site.

I called the number someone listed above and got my numbers.

Do we both (petitioner and applicant) need to fill out the DS-160?

Only the beneficiary fills out DS160 except he or she can have assistance. Even with assistance the beneficiary is the only one allowed to sign it. My fiancé is from Philippines too and we filled it out together online.

Did your fiancé get the MNL#? You can track through CEAC with that number.

I just got off the phone with NVC and they told me with K1 visas, they do not send any welcome letters as its a K1 Visa. They just send your documents straight to the embassy. Also they said if I have any questions, talk to the embassy. Does this sound right to anyone?

My fiance hasn't received any letter from the NVC and I am going for my interview tomorrow without it.

Have you got your case number? If yes, keep checking the visa status at the CEAC website and once it's "ready" (which means its already in the consulate) you can schedule the medical exam and interview.

Atleast that's how it goes for the Philippines. It couldn't be very much different for Mexico though! :)

NVC doesn't do anything when it comes to a K1 visa besides issue it a case number. You get NOA2 and wait for USCIS to mail it to NVC (which takes ages). Once NVC has it they issue it an immigrant case number and send it to the embassy or consulate that you entered into the I-129F. How an embassy works the visa processing is all dependant on them, so look in your embassy forum for help regards to that. Being as NVC issues your case an immigrant number, I always called the immigrant line, however it shouldn't matter since all calls will go to an operator asking to WAC number.

I completed the K1 process about 2 weeks ago, so if anyone would like some help, feel free to PM me.

I haven't received hardcopy of approved NOA2 yet, which CIS said they mailed it around Aug. 02. Does my fiance overseas needs the copy of NOA2 or the case number in order to submit the visa application? How did people get case number? Just keep calling NVC?

No, your fiancé will not need the NOA 2. However, you will need a copy of NOA 2 when you AOS after marriage. To get the case number, yep, just keep calling! It took exactly 2 weeks and one day from my NOA 2 to get my case number, as an FYI.

Thank you for your reply. What do I need the case number for?
