A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

Thank you! My fiance called NVC and the lady told him the file is in China already and it was sent in electronically. Maybe China is the only country that transfers files electronically?

So I figured I'll post this here since I was right on the cusp of May/June and I was posting in both threads - just got my approval!

Received by USCIS May 31st

NOA1 June 3rd

NOA2 Aug 12th.

I for sure thought we were going to get an RFE for my fiancé's birth certificate; it didn't have a back so we didn't send one. But we're good!

I for sure thought we were going to get an RFE for my fiancé's birth certificate; it didn't have a back so we didn't send one. But we're good!

Lol The blank piece of paper vs no piece of paper debate for the back of the Birth Certificate had me nervous about getting an RFE as well! Congrats on your approval! Edited by mensahkanec

Quick question guys. we are waiting for the NVC to receive the application and apply a case number, however it appears i can submit my DS-160 form online via electronic signature already?

can i go ahead or do i need to wait for a case number?

you will need your case number for the DS-160.

you can fill but don't submit until you get it ... or wait and fill after you get it.

Hey guys, NEED HELP!
We just got got the RFE mail yay!!
They are requesting 2 passport pics of my fiance, which we sent with the main package.

They ask to "Print the name and A-number (if any) on the beck of each photo". What does that mean???

Also the mail had 2 papers, one is a notice of action and the other is what exactly do they want from us.

The notice says - "RETURN THIS NOTICE ON TOP OF THE REQUESTED INFORMATION LISTED ON THE ATTACHED SHEET".

Do we have to send them the pictures and the notice or the other page (with their requirements) too?

Anyone knows?

The A number is the alien number. It is Axxx xxx xxx (capital A followed by 9 digits) we got our in the NOA2 typed at benificiary section with the benificiary name. Check the NOA you got and see if it is there. About the address I have no clue someone else may help you with that.

Good luck !! 2 pic is not hard. Make sure they fit their reaquirment (2x2 in)

Your answer is right on.

In addition, There should've been a pre addressed white envelope with the request.

I'll check my file for the address. I know it's in Laguna Niguel, California.

I just recently got my RFE approved.

Can the Petitioner fill out the DS-160 or is it something the Beneficiary fills out. Like i know you get some sort of the receipt at the end, but I'm wondering if I, the Petitioner can fill it out then send the confirmation page via email to my fiancé the Beneficiary?

It is information on the beneficiary, and it's supposed to be the beneficiary electronically signing the form. There is a question that asks did you have help filling out the form. You could assist with the form, but the beneficiary needs to be the one signing their name.
