Thank you for the info. I will check it out when I get home and can think. I want more than anything to have my fiancé here as soon as possible but I also want to make sure everything I choose is practical. Rushing never solves anything so I will compare them all and see which works best for both of us.

that is the smart way to do things!! never rush !! read .. google .. ask who are experienced and going through the same thing here !!

A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

Just a question to you guys. Do you count the weekends as a part of the waiting time..?

Hi,

from the USCIS website seems that the costumer service Center work from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm .. according to this https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-national-customer-service-center-saturday-hours

But still this is only the call center ... i think the USCIS has regular working hours from Monday to Friday ... and we have to count the week ends because we are patiently waiting .. to them they count only regular business days ... that what i think.

I guess we`ll see next week.. :)

I have read somewhere that you may get an email or text on weekends because it is an auto answer system and this should not mean that they work on week end .. i think it would be better for you to wait and hope it is going to be this coming week!!

I called USCIS today (no help) and asked them if they could tell me if the application was received since I have not received any kind of notification. I said my check has not been cashed, I never was notified and well at this point I don't even know if the lockbox picked up my application.

The guy said "You have to wait the 30 days before we can take action. The Notice of Actions are automatically generated and go out within 30 days. If you do not receive anything by June 6th you can call back and we will take further action."

So I asked since I may get married there this summer "If by chance my application is not found can I write a letter and stop payment on the check and withdraw my application?"

The guy says to me "Oh no, if you are going to withdraw you need the receipt number and an USCIS officer would be able to help you with that information once you receive the receipt number.

I respond "so you are telling me if they cannot find my case I can never withdraw that application? He said yes mama you need that number. WHAT?!?!?!?

I don't know if I should cry or get mad. ####### do I do if they can't find it? I will have 18 days from June 6th to figure everything out before I leave until the middle of August. Ugh so I have no choice but to wait 2 more weeks. =(

Thank you. It sucks to wait but what sucks even more is what happens if they can't find it? What do I do then? He also told me I can't fill out any other visa for my fiance until they find it and I withdraw it =(

Hi, just got our NOA1 2 weeks ago. Im not really sure if my fiancee did it well in the process (i mean the forms and all). Hopefully no need for RFE. Now waiting for NOA2. what should I do while waiting?? What should boyfie do too?Thanks a lot!

it sucks indeed ... if you are determined and decided to go this summer and get married .. i think this should not stop you from doing it .. from now till then they will find it and you will hear something and you can cancel your petition ... hope someone more experienced with this can enlighten you with more details and advice!

have patient and faith .. that is the only thing that can help right now !

what you can do is the same as we are all doing .. wait, patient, pray for no RFE and get answer sooner possible, google, read and learn from previous posts and experiences and get ready for the next part!
