A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

The iphone app is the only one I have seen so far where you can narrow the results. I have android and it sucks. That app is basically worthless until it notifies you that you have been approved.

I gave up lol it is confusing me too much.

I have an iPhone so I can't promise it's the same, but when I searched for the app all I did was search for USCIS and it came up as USCIS case tracker. Maybe try the same search and see what comes up? :)
