According to someone who works for DHS the wait for visas going to NVC from USCIS is not because they are not sent to NVC it is because NVC only has so many workers and there is a backlog of visas. It is ALL visas they are sent for background checks and validations.

The wait stinks but at least we don't have to sit on pins and needles waiting for an approval. ☺️

Makes sense. Which it shouldn't. Lol

A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

Lol I made my cousin ask someone he works with at DHS. I wanted to know after I started seeing all the "wait at least 90 days and call" of cours th guy from DHS said "it is not our fault we ship them and the applications sit there because NVC is so understaffed now" he also said that this for some reason a lot of people are applying for all kinds of visas and many refugees are being vetted. So this has just become a slow process. Don't know if the guy was talking out his ### or if it's true lol

NVC has been slightly slower lately, but when it comes to taking weeks for them to receive them is still a USCIS issue. Mine was sent out 2 1/2 weeks after approval, and some people are still waiting.

NVC has been slightly slower lately, but when it comes to taking weeks for them to receive them is still a USCIS issue. Mine was sent out 2 1/2 weeks after approval, and some people are still waiting.

I guess you are on of the lucky ones ☺️

Hey guys, my case updated today and it says "card/document production".

No idea what this means. Is this a mistake? Should I contact USCIS?

nothing else more then ""card/document production"" ???... it is not clear enough !!! ... what it is sure that they are working on your file .. maybe an approval or an RFE ... the good thing is someone is working on your file and you are May 16 !!

what can you say to USCIS ?? just be patient for couple of days till it get more clear !!

let us hope it is an approval and your case will be updated to approved coming next few hours !

Yeah, the email just says "your case status: card/document production". I'm hoping it's not an RFE!
