Is anyone else on this thread from Canada/going through the Montreal consulate?

Canada Post is potentially about to go on strike, and I'm worried that if they do halt the mail system that it'll affect the petitions making their way all the way to Montreal from the NVC ..

Hello guys. Just a question, would it be wrong if i over sent other documents together with the I 129f form like a copy of my fiances nbi clearance, my w2? Didnt discover visa journey prior to sending the petition lol im just being paranoid the waiting is making me crazy ??

I front loaded also because a lot of times they make their decision before the interview so I figured I would give them everything before hand. It is not a problem.

I am going through Montreal, but I wouldn't stress it yet. Last time they went on strike they were mandated back to work in ten days and we've all got weeks to go before NOA2 and then NVC state-side. I think we're okay! And on the off-chance they're still not working, I imagine they would use UPS or Purolator or something else. All the online shops are doing that right now, lol.

I found in another forum information that the Montreal consulate has already switched to Purolator in anticipation of the Canada Post Strike - and that the NVC ships using private couriers to Montreal as well, so we'll be in good(ish) hands!

Hi everyone, so finally got to request a resend for the documents that were returned to USCIS. We sent our petition end of April, and received an sms and email beginning may that they received it. I'm guessing the document that was returned was the hard copy receipt. Does anyone know if this will slow down our process? Thanks guys ☺

The same thing happened to us. The case continues processing. The only time a notice affects the case is when you get an RFE.

My hard copy NOA1 never actually showed up in the mail. They told me as long as I had the confirmation email with the receipt number I was fine.

Did you by any chance receive the same update on the website? On July 7, 2016, the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until January 3, 2017. Please go towww.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by January 3, 2017, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), with fee. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschangeto give us your new mailing address.

We had 2 of these. One for the 22nd June and then one 7th July?

Mine only says case was received. Never seen case is active.
