A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

What's the word on how long it usually takes for everything after we receive NOA2? So stressful trying to plan when to move and trying to know when he will be back ?

From snooping around March thread,

I think it's about a month from NOA2 to NVC, Which it too damn long IMO.

And then the rest is dependent on your individual embassy, it seems. :( I'm gonna be looking at a long, long wait for Montreal from what I can tell.

you find your NOA1 date on the i-797c under "" notice date "" .. please set your timeline accordingly and make it as much accurate as possible !!

PS : even if you are a June filler .. you still welcome in our group !!!

I hate to be the one to tell you...but no ?. May 10th is the received date. Look on your NOA1 under notice date in the top right hand corner, and that is your NOA 1 date.

They sent my text and email on the 17th, but my notice date is actually the 16th and my received date is the 12th of May.

Would be soooo nice if that receive date was the NOA1!

firstly, I asked a simple question to early may filers which your not!.. so don't tell me to relax and secondly, you may not be aware but a early may filer ( who was not an expedite) with noa date of 2nd may got approved on friday which indicates that CSC have started on early may filers as well as continuation of april filers.

You can sign up for the USCIS website and track your case, as well as other cases around your number, to see if any progress has been made with cases close to yours :D That's what I did! I was tracking the first 10 cases before mine and the 5 after it.

04/14/16-Case Received

04/18/16-NOA1

04/21/16-NOA1 Hard Copy

06/30/16-NOA2 (73 days)

07/05/16-NOA2 Hard Copy

07/25/16-NVC Case Number Assigned.

07/26/16-Case was in Transit.

07/28/16-Case is now 'Ready' in Amsterdam

08/03/16-Received packet 3

09/27/16-Interview - APPROVED!!

09/29/16- Visa received.

10/29/16- POE date.

12/03/16-Receiving Social Security Number
