I am afraid its gonna take too long because its been really a month and I havent gotten an RFE nor have I heard anything from them.

But I doubt I will get an RFE because I have sent the following items.

Copy of the Birth certificate

passport-type photo for me and for my fiance

Proof of having met in past two years

intent to marry within 90 days

boarding passes

engagement photos

I have sent all these do they require any additional documents ? will they still need an rfe? I guess my question is who gets an RFE? I know I have sent all the documents because a 3rd party agency was handling it

They are only starting April filers right now. You probably won't hear anything at all until July or the start of August. They most likely won't even look at your case until about the second week of July at the earliest. Anyone can get an RFE when USCIS wants more information.

A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

Could I get an RFE because of the money/cheque issue?

Normally if there is a check or money issue they send the whole package back to the USC. with a denial letter. All you have to do is follow the instructions on the letter they send you and send the right form of payment and they will process it.

Hi everybody. We are new here just a few questions if anyone can help. My fiance (US citizen) and I(South african) have filled the 129f and it was received on 2 May. They sent a receipt but we never received it as we are working in China and perhaps it got lost. Is there anything important that they sent us? We have now changed the adress to his mother's in New York. We are desperate to go back home and have our lovely dog with us, rough idea how long it will take? Thank you so much❤

We just started the process we are a same sex couple. We sent the application in May 23,2016 and we got an email and text message with the NOA 1 in May 27, 2016. Our case was sent to the CSC. I was checking some reviews and from what I see they are processing K1 approvals faster than other USCIS facilities. We are hoping to ends this with the k1 approval in less than 5 months. Good luck to everyone

I called USCIS today (no help) and asked them if they could tell me if the application was received since I have not received any kind of notification. I said my check has not been cashed, I never was notified and well at this point I don't even know if the lockbox picked up my application.

The guy said "You have to wait the 30 days before we can take action. The Notice of Actions are automatically generated and go out within 30 days. If you do not receive anything by June 6th you can call back and we will take further action."

So I asked since I may get married there this summer "If by chance my application is not found can I write a letter and stop payment on the check and withdraw my application?"

The guy says to me "Oh no, if you are going to withdraw you need the receipt number and an USCIS officer would be able to help you with that information once you receive the receipt number.

I respond "so you are telling me if they cannot find my case I can never withdraw that application? He said yes mama you need that number. WHAT?!?!?!?

I don't know if I should cry or get mad. ####### do I do if they can't find it? I will have 18 days from June 6th to figure everything out before I leave until the middle of August. Ugh so I have no choice but to wait 2 more weeks. =(

I was reading information and they said that if they do not cashed the check is because something of the paper work is missing or usually the application is not signed. It could be anything.

If they decide do not process your petition they will send it back to you letting you know the reason why. It can be a month or may be more to get it back.

Welcome to the May Filers!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 5 months or less as well. I can't travel to visit my fiance because of work, so waiting is really hard.

If they decide do not process your petition they will send it back to you letting you know the reason why. It can be a month or may be more to get it back.

I got the NOA1 notification on the 26th =) all is good =) next up NOA2 =P

Good morning everyone,

I was browsing the app and I noticed USCIS requested an RFE for someone whose only 3 cases away from me. That means they are working on May filers. youppi!!!! At least we know its not sitting on someones desk piled under 33242 application lol. So I believe this is a good sign that they started to look at May petitions :) right??

Don't want to be a pessimist .. but are you sure that case is an I-129F ?? the app show all kind of cases (I-129F / I - 130 / I- 400 / I- 765/- ....) it doesn't seem right that they are working on May K1 right now .. they just started with April and they are on the first week of April !!

the good thing is it is going pretty fast and the timeline estimation is going backward now !!

I am 100% sure. I just rechecked it right now and its i129f. It says "REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE WAS MAILED" June 15, 2016 and right above the date it says i129F. So assuming they started working on May????? I dont want to get too happy but I think they are. And I checked its only 3 cases away from mine... Is anyone else seeing what Im seeing???
