My husband and i submitted out i751 apr 28th to usps and it was supposed to be delivered on apr 30th, 2 day priority shipping.

Usps lost my package and it wasnt delivered until may 5th. I had to call and make inquiries and the whole 9 yards for them to locate and deliver my package to vermont uscis.

The thing is that my gc expired today, may 11th and the money order that we submitted hasn't been cashed yet.

My questions are:

Do they judge your package by the date it was delivered to them or the day that they actually open it and cash the check.

Secondly, am i breaking the law if i continue to work ?

How long does it usually take to receive your NOA in the mail or for them to cash your check/ money order?

Am i automatically going to be placed in removal proceedings?

-thankss for the answers.

The filing date is the date that you postmarked it. So since you did your part correctly in sending the packet in before your conditional GC expired, then you're legally extended by 1 year. It's just that you have no proof really, so I wouldn't go around driving next to the south border for instance or leave the country for any reason until you actually get your NOA1 that states explicitly that your status has been extended.

You are not breaking any laws by staying in the country, working, etc as your status is extended for 1 year automatically by you filing for ROC before your GC expired. It's not your fault the USCIS is really slow.
