Do married people who live together and have a child, need relationship proof?

Hey guys!!

Me (again), sorry, getting to the final stretch for interview now, as Embassy received our papers and our status shows "Ready" for interview.

My husband (USC) and I have been living together here in Greece for the past 3 years. We also have a baby together. The apartment lease is under my name because it took a while for him to get his green card here but he is mentioned in the deed as the husband.

Since he came here and then we became a couple, we don't have any plane tickets to each other. We do have pics and such, and his parents are co sponsors and sent us an affidavit even saying they support us and our children and that they bought us a house to live in.

So, do I really need relationship evidence and if so, what kind?? As I've said I have mostly pictures, as there aren't really any chat logs or travelling involved in how we became a couple and got married.

You don't really need relationship evidence, in terms of emails or phone bills, but you should bring some proof of living together and being recognised as a couple (joint bills, or at least bills going to the same address; wedding congrats cards addressed to both of you; the deed you mentioned; birthcert of the child to show he is mentioned). You may not be asked for it- we weren't- but better bring too much than too little.

Yes, you still need proof.

You can submit child birth certificate, lease, his visa to live in Greece, joint bank accounts, etc.

No, we don't have life insurance of any kind at all. In Greece the only life insurance that allows you to list someone as a beneficiary is the private kind , which we cannot afford as he did not find work here.

No wills either.

All I can show them other than the birth certificate of our child and 3 years worth of pictures, is wedding things (invitation, photos etc), an affidavit from his parents that they bought us a house and that they have arranged for a good school for the boys and the lease that mentions his name as the husband.

Also his green card issued because he has a child with a Greek woman.

No joint account either as Greece has capital controls in effect, which do not allow to open new accounts or modify existing ones by adding a second beneficiary but I do have receipts from money sent by his parents to us.

Just bring all the stuff that shows you are married and live together, whatever that is, and you'll be fine.

I'm sure the Athens embassy is well aware of alll the problems with regard to the banking and that you can't add a name to the account and so on. That's the beauty of interviews being held in the beneficiary's home country - they are aware of the local situation. You probably won't need to explain anything to them because they already know.

You'll need the living together / financial co-mingling stuff for RoC later on, so start collecting those bits once you've moved so that you'll not have to worry about it later.

The amount of relationship evidence needed at embassies tends to vary - my husband and I didn't show them any in London, other than our marriage certificate. Take what you have a long with you incase they ask to see a photo or proof of address or whatever, but don't stress it too much.

Hi guys,

Getting close to an interview date. I speculate it will be in July or August.
Do they require relationship proof for married couples? And what kind? We have been living together since 2013, had a baby in 2014. I have no chat logs or such, I mean...we are in the same house lol
I do have photos and I can tell them everything about him and his family (they came over and we've met). What else would I need?
I have been reading past topics and I saw a lot of denials based on "not establishing a relationship". The Embassy has already given us a very hard time and plenty of RFE's so I am a little worried as they seem like they do NOT want to issue the visas.

No real red flags, Greece is not a high fraud country, we have letters of support from his parents (they bought us a house and have written out how they have found the boys a school and how they will support us etc), he is 5 years older than me, I work here (teacher) but he doesn't... I just don't have any chat logs from previous years. We became a couple when he moved here so the relationship was made face to face.

Any insight is appreciated!!

We have none of that as Greece is under "capital controls" and we were not allowed to add his name to any bank accounts or open a new shared bank account. We have no insurance at all, either private or public, no money for that as only I work. However this too is pretty common in Greece right now as 60% of the people are without insurance due to the economic crisis.

Utility bills in Greece are under the name of the owner of the house (We rent). We do have the lease saying he lives here. We do have joint taxes filed.

Not many photos because we don't really know anybody here, he doesn't speak the language and we have no friends, I don't know anyone in the area and I am kept pretty busy with 3 kids and work. I have pics with family though. My brother married us and christened our daughter.

However, the Consulate *should* know all this about Greece (bank accounts, bills ets) as it is common here. Should I be worried?

Generally in Greece leases are under ONE person's name. Same with any bills. Only taxes are filled jointly, and before capital controls were enforced, you could have two names in a bank account. We did try to get him added after the wedding, the bank denied us (Embassy is aware of the restrictions set by the Greek government) so the account is only under my name.
His parents have been financially supporting us, I have the receipts from their payments.

Public insurance is under ONE person's name and there is NO beneficiary, period. Only private insurance allows that and we don't have private insurance.
Co-mingling of finances with a person that has NO money is kinda hard
But as I've said his parents have been sending us money so I do have have those receipts. Will this help?
Also my husband has special needs and does not drive, so no car.
