Reentry permit and filing form I751

Hello,

I just filed my I751 form to remove conditions and my green card has now expired. Haven't received my receipt from VSC yet. My husband (american citizen) is being offered a job in Canada, we're not sure how long it would be for but I don't want to move and ultimately lose my greencard as I'm planning on applying for citizenship in the future.

Is there any way to file for a re-entry permit whilst the I751 is still processing if i have the receipt that extends it by a year?

Yes you can. But someone needs to be monitoring your mail and letting you know if any RFE's or a interview gets scheduled. You'll of course also need to go to your biometrics appointment.

You do know I hope that an extended time out of the country will affect when you can apply for citizenship?
