We are planning to proceed on my AOS though I just had a baby, I am breast feeding and I don't have vaccine shots as they were waived in the Philippines cause of my pregnancy. Question is, do I really have to hold off on my AOS til I'm done breast feeding? Won't the vaccine shots contrainticted to breast feeding be waived as well? We don't want to wait til I'm done breast feeding before we could proceed nor formula feed my baby.

Thank you for those who will enlighten us.

If you had prenatal care in America, you very likely already received a TDaP and maybe a flu vaccine and probably had a titer for rubella and chickenpox done (you can check your early blood work for that) . A pertussis vaccine is very important for the parents of baby. Well, all vaccinations are important as a parent to make sure you don't infect your child.

The vaccinations required for immigration are safe to get while breast feeding. Check with your medical provider to get your questions answered. You are helping to protect your baby by getting them. Congratulations on your new addition!

Shouldn't be an issue. I suggest (in your case) to have a civil surgeon complete the I-693 for your AOS, this will remove any issues in that area.

Thank you so much everybody. Got to talk to a couple of civil surgeons and they said the required vaccines are safe while breast feeding. So I guess we are good to go. Thank you so much for the answers and the wishes.
