Hi all,

hope you are all doing well on this beautiful day!

I was wondering about the following:

Soon I will have my Greencard (hopefully). My Greencard has my new family name, but in my passport I still have the old family name.

Of course I would like to update my passport, but until then, will I be able to cross the border with my old passport if I just bring my marriage certificate and maybe some of the immigration papers to proof I am the same person?

Does someone have experience with that?

When you travel internationally, purchase the transportation tickets in the passport name, bring your valid passport, your EAD/AP combo card/GC (whichever is applicable), and a copy of your marriage certificate.
