I'm still waiting for an answer on how OP got citizenship. That may be a hint as to the wait.

What does the status say on the USCIS site? How long after marriage did you file the AOS package?

Haha nice to see this board looking for juicy gossip rather than actually trying to assist. On top of that going on to make assumptions that things are altogether untoward.

Obviously not the norm in terms of processing, however unless you work for the immigration services you have no idea as to why this couple have been held up for so long.

Sanjay I do think you haven't been too clever in not pursuing your application. It's one thing allowing the agencies to "do their job" without getting in the way too much, however it's another thing when you become a bit of a doormat to said agencies by not putting up a fuss when months have rolled by.

Ask the reason for the delay with some vigour, is her name the sane as someone they have on a watch list... You have to be the one to clear it up or else they will leave you in limbo.

yeah she was in AP for 13 months after her K-1 interview .

Oh My, did they ever say what the issue was for such long AP when she finally was issued a K1 Visa? Reason I ask, maybe its the same issue as before.

When you have called, did they specify what they were doing, such as back ground checks, finger prints comparisons, same name as on a watch list?

If not, I would do some questions asking.

i am not really surprised that they took long , because i have seen couple in AP for 3 year, 19 months, 23 months, and 2 year as well. both for K-1 and for AOS as well.

I have seen couple even from European country/golf/Asian /central Asia that they took long in AP.
