Hello,

I was hoping to get an answer from someone else who has some experience with these documents for the k-1 visa.

My fiance is trying to get his "Certificate of No Marriage" for the k-1 visa. We have run across 2 options. The first says that he is free to marry and requires him to have a letter from me in the US saying I am free to marry. It is called the " Zaświadczenie o możności zawarcia małżeństwa" (I believe), and is only valid for three months. I found the information at this link: http://edynburg.msz.gov.pl/pl/informacje_konsularne/dzial_prawny/zaswiadczenie_o_zdolnosci_do_zawarcia_malzenstwa_za_granica/zaswiadczenie_o_zdolnosci_do_zawarcia_malzenstwa_za_granica

The other option is called "Stan Cywilny" it is valid for one year and just lists him as single. Will this document work? He was able to just go pay and pick one up. And it did not require anything from me.

Also, am I correct in thinking we can submit a copy of the front and back of this document and not need to send an original?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Oops, small correction. It appears that the form that he got is called "zaswiadczenie o statnie cywilnym" and it lists him as "stan cywilny"

I went to the website of the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw and their list of needed documents doesn't specify a document that you're writing about: https://pl.usembassy.gov/pl/wizy/narzeczona/rozpatrywanie-wnioskow-o-wizy-narzeczenskie-2/

You don't need anything like that. Only if you were previously married you will need to submit divorce decree.
