L visa questions, planning, what to expect

Our situation:

Working for 4 years for an american company in Europe. The company has made a job offer to transfer my husband to one of their US site. They will apply for an L visa.

Six years ago we filed a K-1 visa and got married in USA, then we adjust the status and he got a 2 year green card. Few moths later he got the job in Europe. We move and a year later he renounce to his green card, as the immigration officer told him it as needed if he wanted a tourist visa to USA.

My question is

Will the K-1 visa, adjustment of status, green card and then the give up of it will have an impact in the adjudication of the new visa?

Which documents we should start to arrange?

Also he is permanent resident of Germany, not his birth country, I suppose the interview will be in Germany?

He will be asked about the previous visa, but it should not have a big impact on the current one, as you did everything correctly and legally.

Yes, as he is resident in Germany he can interview there.

Another questions, if the visa gets approved it is possible to do a trip before the stated starting work day to USA? We are offered a company paid trip for house hunting, get to know the area etc.

He also has a visitor visa valid until the end of this year.

I have all these random questions and worries in my mind right now.

Yes. Might be easier to do the visit before the L is in your passport.
