No there is no way to decrease the time. People that are currently getting their visas were petitioned by their siblings 13 to 23 years ago. Expect the wait for current filers to be much longer due to the increased number of filings. What country are you from

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Nothing really , make sure you fill the paperwork out properly. There are guides here that will help if you want to do it yourself. From Morocco you would be looking at the shorter time frame ( whatever happens to those that are in the line of 13 years) You just file the petition and wait for the rest of the time.

I guess for filing and petitions no need for a lawyer at all since it all could be done by you. Remember, the same information you would need to complete petitions or applications will be requested by a lawyer...it means you still have to do the work yourself to provide documents...all what they do is fill the paper work for you and submit it.

On the other hand, if you apply yourself and then down the road (maybe years) you would have legal problems or issues that can't be solved by you, then you might hire a lawyer...They are not cheap and bringing family cases can drag on for long time and can be stressful...
