Fair enough. I notice the "Nose hair" poll the other day and some other totally random polls the other day, so yeah I didn't have an accurate gauge of what people are comfortable joking about here. So, yeah, I overreacted with the Puritans comment. I think there are good reasons to discuss sex on this site and others, but maybe the pubic hair question should be left for my drinking buddies.

Did you also happen to see the TMI? poll where a lot of people mentioned how off-putting some things are? I've really made my point, I'm not going to beat you into the ground. But I did find it so strange since we're kinda a familiar community here for you to just jump in and wanna talk about pubic hair. Perhaps it just didn't make the best impression.

Wow, I'm really really surprised at the reaction mmario has gotten for these polls and this thread. Steven and Jinky, for one, actually made pretty much exactly the same poll a month ago and got a little heat but not nearly as much. When I saw the polls I thought "eeeww" but they didn't require posting, just voting in them at most.

I would not choose to respond to something about pubic hair, but I know a lot of people would. And this thread? Totally tame. Totally Steven and Jinky territory, actually. But talking about women and men's libidos does not have to be a personal discussion at all. Nobody has to say "OMG that is so not true I jump my fiance's bones 400 times a day" although some have already been explicit (their choice).

I think this thread particularly (for me) got the runover from those two polls. One can have a conversation about statistical findings about libido, etc...but in the context of the two polls as well...it seemed to me this guy was a bit of a wierdo/pervert/troll. And that's where I was reacting from. Like '####### are we going to have 50 zillion threads all about sex & pubic hair??

Steven & Jinky did have pretty much the same thread...which I found just as vulgar and distasteful...but he's been here a while and has sorta proven himself to be somewhat normal (I say that v loosely, Steven ). He's made himself part of things here, so I think it's slightly more excusable when a long standing member crosses the line instead of one who is outta the blue. I dunno...I think it's the whole familiarity angle. I think it's odd when someone who's relatively new jumps in with 'is your ####### hair like a bird's nest?'

Just ewww imo. And why anyone would want to know the answers to those polls or even have a conversation discussing the merits of pubic hair hygeine just baffles me completely.

But take it with a grain of salt, cos all I'm doing is stating my opinion!

Well, they are anonymous for the members group. Admin will more than likely be able to see exactly who voted.

I don't see anything remotely fascinating about discussing personal sexual matters on a message board (nothing to do with it being offensive, I am quite happy to discuss theory but personal preferences and details will remain strictly between myself and my husband) and yet you, the one who consideres sex before marriage a sin, enjoy public sex talk.

You should at all times do as you please of course, but from where I stand, your moral fabric seems to have a few holes.

Well, I don't participate in any of the other sexual threads...whether it be a Gnubee or an Oldee, I couldn't give a monkeys about that, or how many posts someone has. But I think, as has been mentioned, that the overflow from the "shaving genitals" polls came here...hence the reactions seen.

Three threads were posted within minutes by the same person, all a bit graphic, hence the "#######?" from many people. Just my $0.02.

But the reason why I pointed out the diff with a noob and a reg is cos if it's a reg you know that's not a freak, you can be all 'whatever' and ignore it instead of 3 threads in the matter of mins by someone when you're all '####### is he all about?'

Yup, I know what you mean Lisa. But to be honest, if it had been Steven (only using Steven as an example, not picking on him or anything!) posting three threads with that content I'd have still thought "wow, ####### mate?". LOL

Nice revisionist history: "wow ####### mate" is a lot different than the neutering you tried to administer to me. And then Steven posts the "buttcrack" post, probably after seeing the ridiculous overreaction to my posts, and everyone just laughs about it. It was funny precisely because of the overreaction to the other comments, yet LisaD was one of the ones chiming in in amusement.

Yeah, I had three threads, but the two polls were clearly the same poll, just that you can't ask four questions in one poll. And it just happened that i got an email with the savage column as I was making the polls; I thought it was humorous, so I posted it. Not like I'm the first one to post more than once about losely related topics. Seriously, you see guys like Gary post ten messages in a row trying to say that we're not really facing the destuction of the environment by polluting oil companies, and it's is no big deal, and then a couple people blow up over one post about pubic hairstyles and another about the difference between men's and women's libidos--1) something everyone has, and 2) something that probably every person in a relationship has to deal with at some point. There are inconsistencies all over the place. You might not like what I posted, but you don't have to be a$$holes about it to me, and then laugh about it when someone experienced on the site makes fun of you for it.

Your apparently intense desire to censure me--and control the way people think, or at least act, on the board--is why I used the term "fascist". Because it fits.
