I-751 RFE responded to, what happens next?

Hello Everyone,

On March 18th 2016 we received an RFE on our I-751 petition from the Vermont office after 9 months of waiting. It took us a while to complete and put together all requested additional evidence.

We posted our RFE response package to USCIS on Monday 2nd of May 2016. Tracking shows delivered on 3rd of May 2016.

We haven't received any receipt or notification from USCIS so far and don't know what to expect next. Upon checking 'my case status' on USCIS site, there is update so far and the last information is about receiving our Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status, which was on June 23rd 2015.

We are very concerned that there is no updates, since we got an RFE meanwhile, and also we do not know what is likely to happen next. Also, how long it takes normally to hear from USCIS.

Any information would be very appreciated. Many thanks

They never utilize their own options. Rarely do they use the status update don't rely on this. USCIS should really remove the status updates because people are mislead that their case will be updated regularly, which is not the case

If you check out other posts similar to yours you'll see that receiving a notification for the RFE in very rare.

Great information Happy Chic! Do you have an idea how long it usually takes them to response after the RFE is delievered? Many Thanks

I have never heard of RFE receipts in online statuses. The next status you should see is "card in production" if USCIS is satisfied with your RFE response. Patience is our greatest ally during the I-751 process!

It was exactly 10 days from the time we responded to the RFE (dropped it in the mailbox) to when we got the "card in production" update on the website. The actual card came maybe a week later?

If it helps, we were at CSC, and the RFE was not asking for additional marriage bonafides (maybe they take longer to assess?).

Hello,

We haven't posted anything here since our last post in 2016. To cut the long story short, things did work out for us on the end. The whole process took time, and yes, we were very stressed while waiting. After our last post on this forum, it took about couple of months when I received my 10 year greencard. We didn't have to go to another interview.

Please be patient, our proces took a long time because we were dealing with very incompetent lawyer, and we have learned that we could have done it all by ourselves without one and save a lot of money too! Altogether our visa journey took nearly 3 and half years. Do not fear people from immigration office, as they are nice and helpful, never once we had a reason to think otherwice. There are lots of cases processed and it takes time, and of course, everyone is stressed out while waiting for the result, but, you will get there. Hope thing will work out for you soon.
