Help - unable to register for courier

Hi Everyone,

Long time reader, first time poster.

My interview for IR-1 visa is coming up this Friday, having filed DCF in London. I have been trying to register for the courier since Friday but have been unable to - I'm pretty sure I followed all the instructions properly, here's what I did, any ideas?

At "https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv"I registered for an account by choosing the option "I have received a consular interview appointment date ..." etc (I think) and received the automated email confirmation of setting up the account

I then went to the account and selected the option "I need to register an immigrant visa appointment".

I entered all my info then clicked "Create Applicant"

Every time I do this, it returns the following error:

*********************

The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment. If you have not received an appointment letter from the National Visa Center (NVC), you can check the status of your IV case at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc.html.

If you have received an appointment letter from the NVC or an instruction letter from the Consular Section directing you to this website to schedule an appointment, please make sure to correctly enter your IV case number.

If you continue to receive this message, please send an email to the CSC support weeac_contactus+gb+ivcasenumber+en@visaops.net with the following information:

  • Email Subject line must read “Case number not ready to schedule”
  • Applicant’s complete name
  • Applicant’s date of birth
  • Scanned copy of the National Visa Center (NVC) or Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) appointment letter or the appointment instructions letter received by the Consular Section

Emails to the CSC support will be responded to within 3-4 business days. Do not send multiple emails because this will delay the response to your inquiry.

******************

[but I don't want to schedule an appointment, only register with the courier ...]

So on Sunday I sent an email to the address listed above, with the information listed, and attaching a photograph of my interview letter, and today I received a reply saying

****************

Dear Applicant,

This Contact Desk is for technical issues regarding the non-immigrant visa appointment scheduling service only.

Please visit our website at https://usvisa-info.com/.

Call center phone numbers and operating hours are available on our website, as well as visa and appointment scheduling information. The section Answers to Common Questions may assist you with information regarding common issues and questions applicants may have.

Please note: The call center cannot provide any information or advise about consular-specific functions such as adjudication times or issuance criteria.

....

...

...

Aaargh. I wrote to the email address they told me to, then they send me a reply saying it's the wrong address. So I'm stuck not being able to register with the courier. What should I do? I'm thinking my next step is to phone the call centre tomorrow morning as early as possible to see if they can help. I'm hoping it's just that with this new system of booking appointments, it hasn't joined up with those of us who have an appointment but just need to sort the courier.

Thanks for any help/advice!

Thanks Tricked.

I had already called the London help number, as listed on the ais.usvisa-info.com website, and after going through I-don't-know-how-many menus, I spoke to a real person. She told me I should use a different email address, as this was a technical problem. So I used weeac_contactus+gb+info+en@visaops.net instead. This afternoon I got a reply from them as follows:

Dear Applicant,

I have uploaded your case number to the system so you will now be able to register. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Regards,

Visa Appointment and Information Services Team

So I tried again and it worked - feeling very relieved to have got this sorted!! So if anyone else has the same problem, try the technical email help address as above.

Yes, I'm sure it's something like that. Thinking back, my status was updated on 3rd May, without any obvious reason, and I've only now realised that was the day the new system came into effect, so it may be that all the information was not correctly transferred from their old system to the new one. I guess we should expect a few bugs when a new system goes live, but it doesn't do any good for the stress levels!

When I had my interview, I remember you pay for it at the embassy for the return of your documents.

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

I'm pretty sure you can only pay for the courier online from what I have heard. I know on the US citizen side we could pay for the courier in the building, since that's what I did when I just renewed my daughters passport last year. But I was told we had to do it online (which I did).
