They have been helping yes, but if this takes 8-9-12 months, they cannot keep doing that. And it is not just the insulin, he also has an auto-immune disorder that requires two shots a months for a total of 900 Euros (free if you have public insurance which he doesn't).
His health needs the kind of supervision that would privately cost quite a bit with doctor's visits and tests per month. We can't ask them for that to go on for months at a time.

I know DCF is supposedly fast but so far for us, it hasn't really. We got the RFE, true, but who knows what they will ask for until we actually have visa in hand.

And from what I see from other people in Greece it might be 2 to 4 months until we an interview date from our Consulate which would put our waiting time roughly, at the same time it would take the normal way.
I know other consulates arrange it within even a month or less but ours isn't that fast really.

All we asked them in the letter was for soonest possible interview date they can arrange.

Guys (and gals), I KNOW we have it better than a lot of people here, waiting to be with their loved ones. We are together, we can do DCF which is normally fast etc.
I am not complaining. I know people are reading and going "humph!! look how fast this is going for them and she wants faster"???
We have a serious problem here though with him not getting a job in Greece. We are talking about a bankrupt country with a 33% unemployment rate. And even those who do work (me), get peanuts. Seriously!!
None of us is insured, we have to pay 50 Euros every time we go to a doctor, there are no free clinics, we are renting... I mean, we barely scrape by. It has come to the point I can't feed the kids anymore. His parents have been helping but they can't keep feeding us for years, you know? We need proper jobs and he needs extensive therapies and doctors' supervision.

I know my posts sound so annoying but when you see your loved one, getting worse and worse each day and can't offer him the kind of support he needs, it hurts!!
So bare with me please and know I am hoping for each and every person here to be re-united with their loved one ASAP!!

It's not only on them, it is your decision.

He is free to go back to the USA... are your children Americans? They could fly back with him. You do have control on that part of the situation, he CAN go back. I'm not saying it is an easy choice, but risking permanent damage from a situation you are keeping yourself into does seem excessive.

How long are you going to wait? What if the embassy is non responsive?

Yeah I told him. If it seems like this will take longer, he might have to.
There are several issues with that too though. No only the baby is a USC but she is too young to be without her mother.

If he left without us, it would also mean I would need to fly out alone with 3 small children and a cat.

You are right, not an easy choice. We are really hoping for the best. We shall see. We are the Embassy's one of two IMV cases. It is not like they have a huge load. I mean when we called they know him by name, since you know... two cases? lol
