POE Blaine, WA review

So I crossed the border between BC and WA at Blaine at 1:30am on May 4th early morning.

I really really wanted to get the heck out Vancouver, and figured I'd make it across and get a motel so I can hit the road trip fresh in the morning.

I crossed at 1:30 am, I was the only one there, all lanes but one was closed, and the officer at the booth took my passport and asked me to park in secondary and bring my IV packet in.

Once in they took my paperwork, and asked me to confirm my US address for greencard/SSC delievery and told me to sit down. There were 4 officers total, the place was dead, and the other guys wanted to check out procedures on processing an IV.

5 minutes later, they gave me my Passport back with the F-11 stamp good for a year and told me that I should have my green card in 3-6 weeks.

I reminded them that I needed to import my truck, I gave them my ICBC form [insurance/registration/ownership on one piece of paper] and offered to give them the compliance letter which they didn't take [it was a pickup truck from the big three US automakers]. One guy went out to check the VIN and then 5 minutes later they gave me a stamped importation form.

1:45 am I was on I-5 southbound and ended up staying at a Holiday Inn Express in Burlington or Bellingham I forgot which.. it was late.

Had a great road trip down the coast.

Oh, I forgot to mention I had 20-30 items boxes, misc apartment items on a spreadsheet inventory, and they didn't bother to check the truck.

On the other hand the POE has vehicle scanners like the commercial POE's so chances are they'll flag a vehicle if there was something suspect...
